Metrico World 1 Walkthrough

Trophies earned in this world:
Minimizing jumps      - Complete World 1 in one play session without jumping more than 42 times.
Getting into the mood - Interacted with all forms of input, right at the start of World 1.

Thoughts on trophy: As far as skill goes, the minimum jumps trophy is probably the most skill-involved trophy in the game.

This walkthrough covers how to get the silver trophy "Minimizing jumps" and can also be used to get it on the first playthrough. The absolute minimum number of jumps required to clear this world is 41, meaning you can mess up once before you have to restart. Make sure to keep track of your number of jumps and restart if you're 2 or more jumps over the listed numbers at the end of each section.

I'll also note when collectibles are present, but don't bother going for them now as they will take too many jumps to unlock and reach. Take care of them using stage select once you're done with the run.

Walkthrough
You'll start off in some white space. You can choose to obtain "Getting into the mood" right now, but you'll probably have to restart after doing so. To get it, just tilt the Vita, tap both front and rear touch pads, and start pressing all the D-pad, shoulder, and face buttons. If it doesn't pop, keep doing the aforementioned actions until it does.

With that distraction aside, on to the actual walkthrough. Jump 3 times to make a platform appear, then jump over it.
Current jump count: 4
Now head right and you'll see a graph along with another platform. Jump over that too.

Current jump count: 5

Shortly after, you'll see some steps, jump over those.

Current jump count: 8

Now, you'll come across the area where the first collectible is. Don't try to get it right now as that will use more jumps than necessary. Instead, jump through this part.

Current jump count: 11

After that part, you'll come across a slope. Jump while on the slope then stay on the left side of the large block and quickly do 2-3 jumps, then run all the way to the right. You should be able to pass through both falling pillars. Restart if you get crushed here.
Current jump count: 14 (If you used 3 jumps to do this part)

When you come to the next part, just drop down then keep moving left and right to raise the platform, then jump to the next one when it's at its peak.
Current jump count: 15

The next one is a bit trickier. Head all the way to the right
Then all the way to the left,

Face right, then do a running jump,

After you land, start going left again until you can go no further.

Do a running jump to the right again, then go left, repeat until you're able to reach the top.
At this point, do two running jumps to the right and you should make it.
You should be able to reach the top in 5 jumps.

Current jump count: 20

This next part is all about timing.

Stand on the very left of the 100% column, then do 3 jumps right after each other. On the 3rd jump, start moving right. This will block the column from moving up. Now, jump on the X= block and start moving right.

Current jump count: 24

This next part has a triangle-shaped grid which supports a platform. It's also where the 2nd collectible of the world resides (Don't get right now). To get past this, jump 4 times while moving right to get on top of the column.

When on the column, start moving left and right to raise it, then wait for the platform on the triangle to reach you. Jump on that too. When you're on the platform, start moving left and right until the platform goes all the way to the right. Walk off the platform into solid ground.

Current jump count: 29

In the next area, jump once, then keep holding right. You'll fall into the pit 3 times, but that's ok, as it'll make a platform move. Once the bridge has been created, jump onto the next platform and head to the next area.

Current jump count: 31

In this area, just hold right and fall to the ground below. Jump over the platform into the final area.
Current jump count: 32

Okay, this is it, the final area. There's also a collectible to be had here. You could get it now, but it's better to save it for later as it's too risky.
Head to the very right, then walk all the way to the left. Repeat going right then left twice more. After that, go to the right and jump to the rightmost platform. You'll need to make at least 9 jumps in this area to make the platform reach the very top, then you can walk off and complete the world.

Final jump count: 41

At the end of the level, two doors emerge. Pick any one you want. It ultimately doesn't matter and is only for a couple of trophies.
