Trophies to be earned:
Efficient Mind - Complete the world without using O once.
Thoughts on trophy: Using O resets puzzles. You might think this trophy is hard because that means no messing up. On the other hand... falling into pits resets puzzles too, and there are a lot of pits in the world, making this challenge a joke.
Get ready for the most annoying world in the game. This world makes extensive use of the tilt function. One thing I've found that helps with these areas is completely spinning the Vita 360 degrees in the desired position instead of just tilting it. This might get a bit confusing for some people, but I'll try to explain as best as I can.
At the start, rotate your Vita horizontally and vertically to fill up two pie charts,
then hold your Vita with both hands, then move your hands to the left to fill up another chart. Spin your Vita counterclockwise to lower the resulting platforms, and clockwise to raise them. Move up to the next area. From this point on I'll be using CCW to refer to "spinning the Vita counterclockwise" and CW for "spinning the Vita clockwise". I advise practicing these motions for a bit in this segment before proceeding. Remember, CW raises the platforms in this part and CCW lowers them. Make sure you know which rotation is which or you will be confused for the rest of the walkthrough.
Here, CW to extend the first bridge,
get on the 0/2 platform and kill the enemy. If the enemy falls, fall into the pit to reset it instead of using O. CCW to extend the other platform.
WARNING: If you mess this next puzzle up, you'll be forced to use O to reset and fail the challenge.
There's a collectible here. Getting it will force you to use O to reset though, so you'll have to come back later if you want the trophy. Start by shooting to open up a gap, then fall through it. Do a CW continuously while you're falling and don't stop spinning the Vita until you've landed. If you did it right, the way should be open for you.
This is what it should look like if you succeeded. |
This next part is a bit tricky to figure out on your own. Fall into the pit to reset the puzzle, then vertically spin the Vita so that the bottom part moves towards you. If done right, a column should lower. I'll be referring to this as VSB (Vertical spin - bottom) Likewise, spinning it vertically so that the top part moves towards you will raise the column. This motion will be referred to as VST. Do a CW to raise the other platform,
This is what the vertical pillars should be like before you can move. Jumping will lower the 'X= Y=' block so you can get on it. |
Should be cleared to jump to the other side. If you're not too certain you'll make it, move right a bit before jumping. |
Thankfully this is the only time in the game that you'll need to do something like this. |
Should be good to jump to the upper level. |
There's a collectible here. Get it if you want. It's on the way anyways. To solve this one, fall into the pit 4 times, then walk to the other side, jumping as needed. Don't jump unless necessary or you'll have to fall into the pit to reset the pillar.
When you come to this block you want it at 3/9 so you can jump over it. |
You want the right floating block to be oriented like so before moving on. |
You can bring the enemies here and kill them from the starting point. |
or you can shift the floating platform down and kill them from below. Your choice. |
Fall into the pit to reset the enemy. Do a CW (for right pillar)or CCW (for left pillar) depending on where the enemy is rolling, to lower the pillars to prevent it from falling off.
You'll want to use the pillars to block the enemy from rolling off the platform. |
WARNING: The last two puzzles have to be done perfectly or else you'll fail the trophy challenge.
Avoid doing any CW motions or you'll regret it. When you see the enemies, fire two shots to kill the top one,
then carefully do a CW motion until the pillar lowers to about 60%. Now slide down the slope and keep mashing R to kill the middle enemy.
Overkill, but gets the job done. |
One more to go!
This last one isn't that bad, the platforms are controlled using CW, CCW, VST and VSB, so just make sure you're walking all the time and that the platforms are the same level with each other before moving on to the next one. Avoid staying in mid-air at all times (that means no jumping and minimal falling) and you should be fine.
Note how the 25% one is about the same level as the ground. |
In case you didn't get it the first time, here's another one showing two pillars at 28%, thus, it's safe to walk to the 28% pillar on the right. |
